This simple yet refined shirt is made from a special striped fabric inspired by a 100-year-old vintage design. The fabric is carefully woven using finer count yarns than the original vintage material, with twice the number of strokes to enhance its density and texture. The pattern has been meticulously analyzed and fine-tuned to be slightly smaller and more elegant, while preserving the character of the original.
The yarns are dyed using the traditional kasuri method, and the intricate pattern is expressed on a double-weave dobby loom. Produced with the utmost care in Nishiwaki, Hyogo Prefecture—an area renowned for its yarn-dyed textiles—this precious fabric beautifully captures the atmosphere of early 20th-century craftsmanship.
The shirt features a simple stand-up collar and reinforced gusseted hem for added durability. It also includes a woven “Hommage 1907” tag by fabric brand Foley, merging vintage inspiration with modern techniques to create a timeless and sophisticated piece.
