Sizing & Care
How do I choose my size?
Please compare the measurements on each product page with a garment you already own. Fit varies by design, so use the measurements rather than the size number alone. If you are unsure, contact us with the product name, your height, and your preferred fit.
Can I wash the garment at home? Will it shrink?
Washing instructions and shrinkage may vary depending on the fabric and finishing process. Please always check the care label and product page before washing.
Most PREQUEL garments made from 100% cotton are pre-washed and tumble-dried to minimize shrinkage after washing at home. Delicate garments are air-dried naturally in the sun instead.
Although our garments are pre-washed, some additional shrinkage may occur, especially when using high-temperature commercial dryers at laundromats. We recommend avoiding high heat.
For wool and other delicate fabrics that require special care, we recommend using a professional cleaning service.

Orders & Delivery
How much is shipping within Japan?
Shipping within Japan is free for orders totaling JPY 20,000 or more, including tax. For orders below JPY 20,000, a flat shipping fee of JPY 1,100, including tax, applies.
When will my order ship?
In-stock items are shipped within one week after your order and payment have been confirmed. Inventory is shared with wholesale accounts, so an item may occasionally be unavailable when ordered. We will contact you if this occurs. Please see our shipping policy for details.
When will pre-order items ship?
Please check the estimated availability on the product page. Pre-order items are shipped once they arrive and become available. If you need an update on a particular order, please contact us with your order number.
Do you ship internationally? What about duties?
We offer international shipping. Shipping to your destination and the final charges can be checked at checkout. Our shipping policy states free international shipping for orders over JPY 50,000. International orders use DDP service, with duties and import taxes collected at checkout. Additional local charges may occasionally apply; please review the shipping policy before ordering.
Returns & Exchanges
Can I return or exchange an item if the size does not fit?
Please contact info@prequel.jp within 7 days of delivery before sending anything back. Items must be unworn and unused, with original tags attached and proof of purchase. Eligibility depends on the item and the terms in our return policy. Shipping costs for returns or exchanges requested for personal reasons are the customer's responsibility.
Are any items excluded from returns?
Our return policy excludes custom-made and special-order items, altered items including hemming or size adjustments, sale items, gift cards, and other items unsuitable for resale. Returns sent without prior contact are not accepted. Please contact us before returning an item.
What if my item is damaged, defective or incorrect?
Please contact info@prequel.jp promptly after delivery with your order number, a description of the issue and, where possible, photographs. We will review the details and assist with a return or exchange.
When will I receive my refund?
After receiving and inspecting the return, we will notify you whether the refund is approved. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 10 business days. The time until the funds appear depends on your bank or card provider.

Are PREQUEL garments vintage items?
PREQUEL creates new garments inspired by vintage clothing and historical textile archives. Vintage pieces and sample books shown in our stories may be design references rather than the product being sold. Please check each product page for its materials and details.
How can I ask about restocks or where to see an item?
Please contact us with the product name, color and size you are looking for. Availability and stock at individual retailers can vary. For any other questions, use our contact form or email info@prequel.jp.
