The story of the S1001 begins with an old French textile sample book.



We studied its delicate stripes, intricate weave structures, and distinctive character.

But our intention was never simply to reproduce the original.

The original weave had a tendency for yarns on the reverse side to catch and snag. We refined the fabric construction to address this issue, while slightly reducing the scale of the pattern to create a more balanced design for everyday wear.

These subtle changes allowed us to preserve the character of the historical textile while making it more practical and comfortable for modern life.

The result is an original PREQUEL fabric, woven in Nishiwaki, Japan.

Paired with a distinctive stand-up collar and a relaxed silhouette, the fabric becomes a shirt that feels both familiar and quietly different.

Worn untucked with relaxed trousers, it fits naturally into everyday life.

Not simply a reproduction of the past, but a new garment with its own story to tell.

The past is where the next story begins.
