A striped shirt inspired by dobby stripes
preserved in a French textile sample book from a century ago.
We studied the beauty of the original weave,
then reconstructed it with new colors and a contemporary perspective.
Fine woven stripes bring quiet depth to the blue cotton fabric.
The fabric is brushed for a soft, comfortable feel.
By reducing the thread density, we have preserved the character
of fabric from a century ago while making it easier
to wear in everyday life today.
A classic standard collar and a simple silhouette
make this a shirt for everyday wear.
It pairs naturally with tailored trousers, jeans and work pants.
Shell buttons complement the textured cloth.
The back is finished with a split, double-layer yoke,
with flat-felled seams at the armholes, sides and underarms.
The 100% cotton fabric is given a one-wash and tumble-dry finish,
bringing together the character of an old textile
and the practicality of a shirt made for today.
