Inspired by American sweat fabrics from the 1950s and 1960s, this material was developed by carefully studying vintage sweatshirt textiles and reconstructing them with slightly thicker yarns for a more substantial feel. The result is a fabric with greater density and presence while preserving the atmosphere of old American sportswear.
To recreate the dry, uneven texture of vintage sweatshirts, the surface yarns were spun using open-end U.S. cotton with a moderate amount of air intentionally retained inside the yarn. This creates a natural roughness and depth unique to classic athletic wear. On the reverse side, irregular 7-count slub yarns were used to faithfully reproduce the rugged texture found in original vintage fleece fabrics.
Simple yet striking, the fabric carries a timeless character and an unmistakable vintage presence.
