These fabrics are not vintage.

They are newly recreated original fabrics, developed from textile sample books that are over 100 years old.

At PREQUEL, we study vintage fabrics thread by thread — carefully analyzing the weave structures, yarn irregularities, texture, fading, and atmosphere preserved within the old materials. From there, we reinterpret those details through modern craftsmanship to create something new.

Our goal is not simple reproduction.

Rather than creating garments that only imitate the past, we aim to develop fabrics that retain the atmosphere of vintage textiles while naturally fitting into contemporary life and modern silhouettes.

The photos shown here compare the original antique fabric sample books with the fabrics we reconstructed from them.

Some details are faithfully preserved.
Others are subtly adjusted through a modern perspective.

By moving back and forth between the past and the present, we continue searching for fabrics that feel timeless.
