Born from a special request by one of our stockists, this piece is part of the SHOP CUSTOM EDITION series.
A special-edition band collar shirt that is not included in PREQUEL’s regular collection.
It is made using the same original PREQUEL fabric featured in the S1010 Classic Stripe Work Shirt.
Inspired by a French textile archive dating back approximately 100 years, the fabric was carefully studied and reinterpreted for the present day, then used to create this exclusive Shop Custom Edition.
Unlike our regular collection, this piece was produced specifically for sale through selected PREQUEL stockists. It was not manufactured for regular release through the PREQUEL Official Online Store.
The very limited quantity available here consists only of reserve pieces originally set aside to ensure fulfillment of our stockists’ orders, together with a small number remaining from production adjustments.
Created through our collaboration with selected stockists, this is a slightly different expression of PREQUEL from our regular collection.

FABRIC
The starting point for this fabric was a vintage French textile sample dating back to 1907.
Drawing from the original pattern, we carefully studied its yarns, weave, and distinctive character, then reinterpreted it as a fabric for today.
Rather than simply reproducing the original, we chose to express the pattern in indigo.
With wear, the indigo gradually fades, subtly changing the appearance of the pattern and giving the fabric greater depth and character over time.
This is not a fabric that is complete when new.
It is designed to evolve with the person who wears it, developing a unique character shaped by time and wear.
DESIGN
The design is based on a classic band collar shirt, reinterpreted with PREQUEL’s own sense of proportion and balance.
The minimal band collar, stripped of a conventional shirt collar, recalls early work shirts and dress shirts, giving the piece a quiet, understated presence. Its clean neckline creates a distinctive expression that remains subtle yet memorable.
By intentionally keeping the design restrained, the intricate weave and subtle variations in color of the original fabric are allowed to take center stage.
It works naturally as a standalone shirt, while the clean neckline also sits comfortably beneath a jacket or cardigan. The balanced silhouette makes it easy to pair with everything from tailored trousers to denim.
A fabric inspired by a century-old textile archive, combined with the timeless simplicity of a classic band collar.
By studying the stories embedded in garments and textiles of the past and reinterpreting them for contemporary life, this piece embodies the distinctive character of the Shop Custom Edition.

This fabric is based on a vintage design, reconstructed using indigo dyed yarns. One of the characteristics of indigo dyeing is that the color changes over time, creating a unique texture, which is a major attraction. In terms of design, the classic stripe pattern is applied, giving a traditional yet sophisticated impression. Thus, it is a high-quality fabric that combines functionality and design.
