BRIDLE LEATHER

BRIDLE LEATHER

Bridle leather was born in rainy England, originally crafted for horse tack.
By carefully working thick cowhide and infusing it with waxes and oils over time, it gains remarkable strength and water resistance.

The white bloom that appears on the surface is proof of this process—wax rising to the top. With use, the leather develops a deep shine and a unique character of its own.

While England is known for its “rugged and robust” bridle leather, France refined the tradition into something more elegant—supple, sophisticated, and rich in color.

At PREQUEL, we are creating a belt that combines this French bridle leather with an original buckle design inspired by the 1920s–30s.
The first samples are now in development, with release planned for next Fall/Winter. Stay tuned.
