It looks simple.

But the story begins with the fabric.

Inspired by the character of American sweatshirts from the 1950s and ’60s, we developed an original sweatshirt fabric in Wakayama, Japan.



The aim was not to make a perfectly uniform fabric.

We wanted the dry touch, subtle irregularity, and quiet character found in older sweatshirts — qualities that become more apparent the closer you look and the longer you wear it.

The design looks even further back.

The four-button Henley construction takes its cues from American underwear of the 1920s, reinterpreted as an everyday sweatshirt for today.

Grey and Navy have a small story of their own.

Last year, these two colors were produced only in limited quantities following requests from some of our stockists.

This year, they officially join Natural and Black as part of the C1011 lineup.
