Using yarns finer than those found in vintage fabrics and weaving them at twice the original density, the fabric achieves a supple hand and a deep, dimensional expression.The pattern was carefully analyzed from the original textile and subtly resized, resulting in a restrained and sophisticated appearance.
The yarns are kasuri-dyed and yarn-dyed, then woven on a double-cloth dobby loom to create distinctive shadows and texture.
Meticulously crafted by skilled artisans in Nishiwaki, Hyogo Prefecture—a renowned center for yarn-dyed textiles—this fabric carries the memory of a century ago into the present.
